ABOUT US

Atoll Marine Centre is a local Maldivian NGO based on Naifaru Island in Lhaviyani Atoll. Our aim is to involve the local community in the protection of the marine environment.

Our international team of Marine Biologists and Veterinarian facilitate the rescue and rehabilitation of injured sea turtles, with the assistance of local interns.  We provide a high standard of care and aim to get the turtles healthy and back into the ocean as soon as possible.

Alongside this we are also growing coral fragments on our nursery to increase coral cover, and partner with Parley Maldives to recycle plastic from Naifaru.

ADOPT A TURTLE

Adopt one of our current sea turtle patients and in return receive pictures, monthly newsletter and updates about your new family member!

DONATE

Help us run our rescue centre by donating to our GoFundMe page. Currently we are fundraising for an X-ray machine to better treat our patients

VOLUNTEER

Join our marine conservation volunteer program in the Maldives! Spend your days on rehabilitating injured turtles and days off on beautiful uninhabited islands in Lhaviyani atoll.

TESTIMONIALS

"I'm not entirely sure where to begin, or how much fun and contentment I have found in my time here. These past 3 weeks have genuinely been the best 3 weeks of my life, not only due to the activities and locations but down to the people I've shared this experience with"
